It's amazing how just one little thing in life can take you off track. I don't even remember what went on during my life that made me stop doing this blog. Maybe life got busy, repetitive, boring, who knows, but I do know that a lot has happened since then. Every so often I would think about getting the blog going again, and now I am finally doing it. It is giving me something out of every day life to be accountable for. Sorry to those of you that read the blog regularly, I am back now and I hope I can keep you interested.
A few big things have changed in our lives in the past 2 years. First of all, we added another boy to our family. Ayden turned a year old just over a month ago. He has brought a lot of joy to our family. It is weird sometimes because we were just getting out of the littles stage and now we have another one. Secondly, we made a big move across the country. We have always lived in SE Michigan, but it was time for a change when the opportunity came. We are now settled in northern Oregon. It has been a great experience for our family. It is hard sometimes not having family around like we used to, but we are still glad we took this opportunity. And lastly, we went from relaxed homeschooling to unschooling. I have always wanted to try it out but there was always something nagging at me, the teacher part of me probably. With moving across the country to temporary housing and then into a house, which we aren't totally moved into yet, we weren't doing much schooling anyway and just jumped into unschooling. So far we have done well with it. The kids are still learning things, not necessarily what the schools are teaching kids(that's why we homeschool right?), but what they may remember in the future and use for things in their daily lives. The older two kids are totally different in their interests and what they want to learn about. So with unschooling they can follow what they love and I can help them along the way learning more about it or just supervise what they want to accomplish. They are still young and finding out who they are and what they can do in this world. I really want to give them the tools and abilities to be able to learn on their own, with that anyone can learn anything. So yea, that's what we have been up to. I am going to make regular blogs here and posts on Facebook. Don't forget to check out the Facebook page: Auer Homeschooling Life
