The morning was a little stressful. The problem started with P not going to sleep until really late and then getting up early. D was playing Jump Start Pet Rescue on the Wii and he kept trying to tell her what to do. When she wouldn't listen to him he yelled at her and hit her. He was sent to his room and chilled out. He behaved then until D was done with her game. P then played the Jump Start game a little until it wasn't working right, then he played Wii Sports. D just danced around and watched her brother play during this time. P then began having a bad attitude toward his game and was yelling at the game. He was told to turn it off and take a break but that made him more upset so he was sent to his room to relax again. D then took the opportunity to watch a Dora Halloween DVD she borrowed from the library. The rest of the morning consisted of watching Dora, Wild Kratts, and playing together. While playing together there was quite a bit of arguing. I thought maybe doing some learning activities would stop some arguing but it just added some whining. P and I did some shared reading with some Super Hero Squad books, Meet the Villains of Villainville and Super Hero Showdown. D sat and listened to both of the stories. While P was complaining about having to more learning D practiced what comes after with Wrap-Ups. P then did -3 and +1 with the Wrap-Ups. We then explored Australia and Egypt with Little Passports. In the Egypt expedition we excavated a pyramid and found a statue of King Tut. P and I played a game of chess where I thought I was actually going to win then made some mad moves and lost yet again. The kids then went off on their own playing Angry Birds on the iPad and taking turns playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes on the Xbox 360 with their dad.
The remainder of the evening the kids watched shows on Netflix and played around the living room. The shows they watched were Iron Man, Super Hero Squad, and Ultimate Spider-Man. Both of the kids must have been tired tonight because they both chose to go to bed early instead of bathing. This was a good choice for D because she was sleeping within 15 minutes. I am sure P will be asleep earlier than he was last night, or least I hope he sleeps tonight.
