I used Hand Writing Without Tears for P in his pre-k year. He had already known how to write and knew his letters and numbers so we used the Letters and Numbers for Me book for kindergarten. I did not buy any of the other products that go along with the curriculum. There are some free print-offs that have have used. In our school room we have the letter formation charts for print lowercase, print upper I printed off and laminated the templates for the wood pieces that are used to build each capitol letter. We didn't use these much because P already knew his letters and gets bored with repetitive subjects that he already understands. The line spacing also didn't prove to be good for him. P writes small and never like making his letters so large. Sometimes he would use only half of the space given to write his letters. I may use this in the future to teach cursive. HWT is sold at a good price for each workbook.
